As I sit here now, I have not gone to the gym today and I am not going to be able to make it to the gym. While going to the gym and getting a workout in was a non-negotiable for today, I can't be mad. It's raining something horribly right now, and something just doesn't "feel" right down there. (I mean, c'mon, I just had a baby 30 days ago!) So before I go push myself at the gym, I am going to call my doctor tomorrow. I am afraid he is going to tell me to hold off on any more workouts until my 6 week checkup. If he does say that, I can't be mad. I need to realize that I am listening to my body, which is what got me to where I was at the end of my pregnancy.
On the days that you have every intention of getting to the gym, but can't, it can be quite easy to say...well, I didn't get to the gym, so I can eat this or that...but, you can't.
Why do you think that working out is a much smaller part of the bigger picture?
You see, if you just work out but you eat like crap, it defeats the purpose (unless you just workout to eat like crap - if that's the case then you're right on it!)
But if you have specific fitness or weight loss goals, you can't expect to strictly see results in the gym. In my opinion, working out is only 20% of the combination. The other is 75% eating towards your goals and 5% supplements.
So on a day like today where I can't make it to the gym (and potentially can't for the next week or so depending on what the doctor says), I have to make sure to keep it clean in the kitchen. Just because you have a setback in one area does not mean you can let the others fall by the wayside.
I am happy to say I did just that. Kept it clean in the kitchen. I also took my vitamins & fish oil.
Let's see what the doctor says tomorrow, and then we will work the gym back into my schedule. For now, I need to make sure my eating and supplement game is on point! That way I have no regrets tomorrow!
In the meantime, I was thinking of different ways you can move forward and make progress with your food, exercising and what you drink.
Hi there! I'm Kara, of taking KARA myself! I've dabbled in blogging off and on for a while now. Mostly off. But I'm trying to change that and make a dent in this side of the world wide web. Enjoy!
