We started off with a Target return which yielded us a $37 Target gift card. Not counting that gift card, we spent a total of $111 and saved $45. I'd say that was not only a pretty successful shopping trip on our wallets, but it was fairly easy to save that money. I just had to take the time to look through the Sunday newspaper, make a list of the specific items I needed to purchase to save money (as long as they were already what I needed), check the Target Cartwheel App to make sure I wasn't missing out on any extra coupons and lastly check the Ibotta App to see what additional savings I could redeem there.
From one week of using the Ibotta app, my savings are already up to $11.25. I can cash out when I have a minimum of $20, or I can select from several different stores and opt for a gift card instead. Here's the kicker, and where you all come in. If YOU join and start using the Ibotta App, and you sign up using MY referral code, YOU get $10 added to your account after you verify your first purchase in the first 7 days after signing up and I get $5 added to my account. It is a win-win!
So, go to Ibotta, click Join Ibotta, then using the sign up on the right, type in your information and in Referral Code use the following code to get YOUR $10 and me to get MY $5 after your first purchase - referral code: 93jyja
In addition to clipping coupons, I am finally back in the swing of using my Dave Ramsey cash envelopes. I have an envelope for gas/groceries, healthy/beauty, family (baby, car, household) and entertainment/miscellaneous. When you use cash, you are much more aware of what you are spending money on versus just swiping your debit or credit card.
What do you do to save money?
UPDATE on 09/05/16: As of today, one day after writing this post, I now have $22 in my Ibotta account. Once Dustin's first purchase is verified, I will get another $5 for him using my referral code. Then he will get $10. No excuse for not using my Ibotta code since YOU get $10 and I get $5! Do it. Do it now!
Hi there! I'm Kara, of taking KARA myself! I've dabbled in blogging off and on for a while now. Mostly off. But I'm trying to change that and make a dent in this side of the world wide web. Enjoy!
